Through our long association with the Morgan Horse we have been fortunate to work with trainers that have helped us learn, helped our horses to excel and helped our farm to prosper. In all cases, our trainers have been, and remain, our friends.
In the very early years, our introduction to the Morgan show world was facilitiated by Jackie Millet-Sweeney of HyLee Farm. Jackie led horses like Thunderbolt TBM, HF Northborn, High Tyme Shillalagh and Hy Tyme Heaven Sent to numerous regional wins for Ridgewood Farm.
Kathy Griffin - we miss her immeasurably - helped us promote FCF Elana (dam of RWF Victorious) and Flaire de Lark - by Waseeka's Skylark out of Hylee's Justintime.
Lyle & Colleen Wick of Hardwood Creek in Hugo, Minnesota were very successful for us with SMS Command Decision, a beautiful young gelding that won many blues for us.
Phil Fountain and Wendell Williams with their AVALON facility helped us glean visibility with horses like Faith Hill, Merwin Caramore, Tara's Sable, Nemour's LaBaroness, RWF Miss Saigon and Cobridge Maximum Affair.
Mark and Melissa Wahl of KEN-MAR TRAINING CENTRE - our love for them is sibling-like - were with us through the good wins we saw with RWF Victorious, and RWF Noelle. Melissa also drove Cobridge Maximum Affair to her first World Champion Ladies Pleasure Driving title.
The move to Colorado and ultimate re-establishment of the Ridgewood Farm home base brought with it our treasured relationship with Bob Kellert and Mary Cockriel - THE RIVER'S EDGE. Located just 5 miles from Ridgewood in Elizabeth, Colorado, The River's Edge has helped us promote horses like RWF Dearly Bealoved, TRE Master of Disguise, RWF Noble Peace and RWF Over the Rainbow. We count Bob and Mary among our very best friends and look forward to the many years ahead that we will spend together promoting the Ridgewood Morgans.
And continuing our interests in promoting young trainers on the rise, we have now included Tim Roesink of Grove Pointe Farm in Hebron, Ohio to our mix of talent. We are excited about our first season at GPS and look forward to getting to know the clients and Roesink family.
